August 17 update. I know you continue, as we do in Coolidge, to try to find ways to minister to our members in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. With our Association, we also are struggling to function in meaningful ways to meet the needs of our Association. However, there has been one very bright spot in the life of our Association and that is the work brother Lowell is doing as our new AMS. He is working hard, while at the same time attempting to balance personal life issues, to meet and establish a relationship with each of the Churches of our Association. I pray that you will take the time to have him come to your church and to get to know both him and Peggy as they begin their new ministry in our Association. They already are a blessing to our Association.
Together we can help each other overcome the challenges we are facing today, that in many ways we have not had to face in our ministries before. Since I was a young man first coming into ministry life, we have been praying that God would send a great revival to our land and move in a mighty way in the hearts of people today. All the great revivals in our past history have come at times of turmoil, struggle, and even danger in the life of our nation. Perhaps God might be using this COVID-19 crisis to get the attention of not only His church, but also of the people of this land that in the past He has so richly blessed and guided to success? Let us pray that this is true and be alert to new ways and new opportunities to reach out to the people in our community to help them find hope and love by faith in Jesus Christ.
